Scoot Education will exercise the right to perform background checks on all hired personnel prior to the first day of work. Scoot Education requires that all employees have fingerprint clearance on record with the state where the employee will be working and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Scoot Education may occasionally find it necessary to investigate current employees, where behavior or other relevant circumstances raise questions concerning work performance, reliability, honesty, trustworthiness, or potential threat to the safety of coworkers or others. Employee investigations may, where appropriate, include investigations of criminal records, including appropriate inquiries about any arrest for which the employee is out on bail. In the event that a background check is conducted, Scoot Education will comply with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state laws, including providing the employee with any required notices and forms. Employees subject to an investigation are required to cooperate with Scoot Education’s lawful efforts to obtain relevant information, and may be disciplined up to and including termination of employment for failure to do so.

Employees with adverse background information (such as a crimination conviction) may be ineligible for employment with Scoot Education. In case of a prior conviction, the employee may be required to provide proof of an error in the official records or provide an official explanation of the nature of the offense.
